Mandar Chitre

Brief Biography

Mandar Chitre is currently the Head of the Acoustic Research Laboratory (ARL) at the Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) in Singapore. He is also an Associate Professor and Associate Head of Department (Undergraduate Programs) at the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering.

Mandar’s research interests include underwater acoustic communications & networking, ambient noise imaging (ANI), collaborative underwater robotics, and acoustic signal processing.

Apart from academic interests, Mandar has a passion for photography, technology, scuba diving, chilies, wine and contract bridge. He also enjoys a good game of squash and badminton.
